In anticipation of the preliminary report of the AML package
Fraud and money laundering alerts continue to rise in banking and financial institutions. Several sanctions and remedial actions have been pronounced by the AMF over the past year to force the sector to have effective anti-money laundering and anti-terrorist financing systems.
To strengthen this fight in the EU, the European Commission is moving forward with the adoption of the ambitious AML Package with the publication of the preliminary report as the next step. The four main measures proposed herald upheavals in the world of banking compliance, particularly in the field of LCB-FT and KYC (ban on outsourcing certain compliance services/departments, criminal sanctions with a minimum threshold of one million euros, etc.).
